Anyone get sober without going to AA? Just

All of the recovery programs are great!! So many sick and suffering people have completely changed their lives! The important thing is to not drink/use and follow a daily program or routine so that you make sobriety a way of life.

There are a loud minority of people everywhere. They are not a good representation of these programs. I hear some comments here that are quite unfair and prejudice. One person, or a few closed minded people, do not represent what these programs are all about.

That is a really bad attitude. AA is what you make if it. You learn that your not the only one suffering in your addiction, you learn how to live sober. It may or may not be for everyone but to bash it isn’t cool. They are many programs out there IF you truly want to stay sober

I am at almost 7 months without alcohol. I have not gone to any kind of meeting yet. I do have a Smart Recovery meeting finder tab open in my browser. If I feel like I need it, I would probably try an online meeting first. I have seen that there are in person meetings near me as well (35-45 minute drive) I do have cravings but I know that I feel better mentally and physically when I don’t drink. I also think that if I drink again, it will be hard to stop. I don’t want to have to start over. Right now that is enough to keep me from drinking.
