I take cymbalta, vistiril and buspar and they work really well together.

We are often adult children of traumatic home lives. I have anxiety issues. Sometimes my anxiety is ok and other times it's paralysing. I have taken doctor directed anti-anxiety meds. They can help.
I also have had lots of counseling. That helps us too. Think of your anxiety like my diabetes. I need insulin 3x daily. And I'm much healthier.
You have a chance to be much better too. Follow your doctor's guidance. Ask about the med. Some meds can cause a feeling of euphoria and disconnectedness. Make sure your doctor knows your concerns regarding your addiction issues. If you don't want it in permanent records make certain your doc knows that ... Good luck

i take Venilafaxine aka Effexor, it’s a SNRI so it works differently than other antidepressants it works for anxiety too and it helps me a lot personally

Lexapro works well for me. It only really started working after I stopped drinking. Anxiety is horrible - I hope you find something that helps.

My Dr put me on Hydroxyzine helps me sleep at night and I've seen a significant improvement in my anxiety.

Please try and hold of on meds unless deemed needed. Just read a ton on the disaster of anti anxiety drugs and relapse.

The results are horrible and yet still handed out like candy.

Please just be careful!

Thanks everyone for your responses I’m going to look into a few of these options…it won’t be my first time taking anxiety meds I just wasn’t ever able to rid the anxiety other than with alcohol…just seeings what’s out there :heartpulse:

Ashwagandha comes in gummy form and is a root from India... Ketamine therapy is the microdosing of magic mushrooms and is an expensive treatment. It's very new and my doctor recommended it.
