I personally do not believe this at all. We all possess the power and discipline to not use, no one is holding a gun to our head. Yea, it is very very VERY difficult at times, but to say we are powerless is, in my opinion, taking responsibility off of ourselves and not accurate. Again, this is just my opinion and I respect what anyone else believes. While addiction is imbedded in us, it does not run our lives, we all have the ability to be disciplined and steadfast, it’s just a very difficult thing to accomplish and stick with. Again, just my opinion.

Love all of the responses here, I appreciate you all so much for the input. Getting to talk about all of these things with total strangers as if we have known each other for lifetimes is legit the coolest and most unique thing about sobriety. I can’t name another place or group of people who make me feel more normal, connected, and real than others do in recovery.
Wishing you all a stellar week ahead!
