Chaired a meeting yesterday

I relate to this so much. The first time I shared my story at a meeting I had to have it memorized and then all written down in front of me in case I went blank. But then I was recently just asked to be the speaker at another meeting and it was an ask-it-basket so there wasn’t really anyway I could prepare what I was going to say. Instead of freaking out, I just prayed that I would say what would be helpful and others needed to hear. I was still a little critical of myself afterward, but just kept reminding myself that what I said was what I was supposed to share. I’m still amazed at the growth I’ve had in recovery. Speaking in front of people was something I never would have been able to do sober before.

Thank you for sharing this! I definitely pray for God’s knowledge before I speak. I feel that the more uncomfortable I am the more I grow in sobriety. Let’s keep sharing our stories and experiences with others.

We share the same sobriety date! Well done..
