Your story of redemption is amazing. Thank you for sharing. I have been given my umpteenth chance in life and like you - after so, so many years of loss and consequences, legal, personal and professional - I took a deep breathe and started the climb. I’ve been sober almost six months and still crawling out of the pit of consequences - but every day is worth it. Thank you for your openness and honesty.

Thanks for sharing from the Heart

Love your truth

Before and after pics never cease to amaze me.
Imagine looking at the after pic and still wanting a drink?
It sure is a disease.

When I watch the show Intervention, I get the same feeling.
Look at you while you're high and then look at you after ONE MONTH of sobriety.
Always lose it.

Hi All! I celebrated 16 months of sobriety last week … then found out I had to get an interlock in my car from a DWI years ago. ugh. I just keep reminding myself that rather than run from consequences of my drinking, take a deep breathe (and blow into the interlock) and move forward. One day at a time. I reminded myself to be grateful to have the privilege to drive and also remember that, every day I stay sober, I never have to worry about blowing into it! Cause for celebration, rather than tears of frustration. Thanks for letting me share! And this site and all of you remind me to keep moving forward in gratitude and stop regretting. Thank you! :two_hearts:

What an amazing story of recovery! There are so many that have lost their lives to this disease. I hope you know how strong you are… strong enough to know the work you have to put in daily to stay in recovery! Thank you for sharing.
