It definitely changes. Hobbies are something we enjoy for the sake of the activity, not an excuse to drink. I learned how to enjoy golf without drinking this last summer. Didn’t think that was possible. lol Finding hobbies that require more physicality more appealing, because I’m not a hungover sick pos all the time.
It will come to you. For now, you can answer the question with a question if you don’t know them well.
I can really relate to this. It has made me feel a bit more like a kid again. I am running outside a ton and I have weirdly gotten really into jigsaw puzzles.
Sending positive vibes, and hopefully you find your new calling/time-killer
This is a good topic, Brittany, and I have been in that same spot. Responding with a simple, “I’m finding out!” is a start, you don’t have to come out with a whole list. Start spending some time with yourself and see what you like to do with your time — it can be as simple as reading a book, pinning on Pinterest, taking walks, cooking/baking, photography, physical activities like yoga, meditation — noticing what sparks your interest, write it down, schedule in time to make your soul shine
I’m a big snowboarder and rock climber, and within those communities, there is a lot of beer. It’s been a challenge to stay in it without partaking.
Yes plus even after almost 8 months I’m really struggling with connecting to people or even really trying to.
So true! I had to start over by going back to things I liked as a kid. So weird looking back on my drinking years, I don’t even know who she was. Keep up the hard work!
I relate to this so greatly - and I have a hard time meeting new people too. I’m 26 and feel like an awkward middle schooler who doesn’t know what she likes or how to talk to people.
Absolutely understand
