Thank you for the information. I just have to find the right meeting & fit in terms of a sponsor. Since women can only sponsor women, this is a challenge. One I had wanted me to attend every activity that she and her group attended. I'm a musician so places that I gig at have alcohol. It's all around, and not going because alcohol is there makes no sense to me. I made my decision to not indulge in Alcohol. Music is part of me. Thanks for your support and advise.
I found some CBD non alcoholic drinks at a local restaurant that features music in the summer so restaurants and bars are becoming more aware!
Hi Nicole, you may want to look at SMART recovery as well. https://www.smartrecovery.org/ It's based on CBT and had online meetings and probably increasing number of in person meetings as well.
Sounds good. I miss singing & playing.
Hi Leslie,
Thank you very much.
Please tell me how you got this far
I am totally AA but I know many who use SMART Recovery.
Hello Nickky your message resonated with me. I am not a scholar or a young man. But feel the need to reach out to you.
I believe that we may be able to help each other on this spiritual journey so we may ascend upward to a higher level of consciousness.
Thank You for positive reinforcement through your words.
Sure Gary,
Reach out whenever you like too.
Dating is tough in sobriety. As I continue to work on me Iām finding out who I am and what I really want. In the beginning I just wanted to fill that empty void of my disease ālonelinessā. Today Iām learning about Godās word. A relationship with others is important but will be greatly improved when I work on me first. I must heal to a point where I can bring something to the relationship and not my baggage. Most of our struggles are from fear. Just like what todayās challenge is about āFearā.
Working the steps of AA are giving me freedom from my past wreckage. Patience is another beautiful thing to learn in sobriety. Iām a more and now person. Well I was before. Today Iām much more calm. Meditation has helped center me.
Keep up the good work! 1000 plus days is awesome. Get that sponsor, work the steps and then work with others. Itās a beautiful program.
There are many supportive po people. You inspired us and you are on correct path of soberity.
I am 100 days sober and I feel very good about that.
You will feel much better as time passes. Feel free to call and text before you decide to take first drink.
Hi Dana, I feel your frustration. I have also been on the dating sites. Everyone wants a woman to sit and drink with. Then when I mention my faith is an important part of my life, FORGET ABOUT IT! It is so frustrating. I am wondering if I am just destined to spend my life single. Smh
Have you found another way?
