Hi! I’m looking for friendship and support

Hiya —one v good bookis “Addictive Drinking”, one theme being that AA really doesn’t do it for everyone…such as atheists…

I am agnostic, and i am a active member of AA...! In the Big Book Of Alcoholics anonymous, it expresses the fact that you don't need to be religious to be spiritual. Many times in How It Works and To the agnostic; it mentions that you put your faith in a higher power of your own understanding!

But i did read a book with a buddhist approach to recovery, very insightful! it's called "Refuge in Recovery"

I had 5 months and blew also...I'm back 3 weeks
..hang on there..it gets easier

Welcome back!!!
If you need someone with time to talk to, your more than welcome to send me a friend request. Helping others helps make my recovery stronger!!

Good luck. I usually help those that go to a program, but need someone to talk or vent to....

Support in this journey is the :key:. I've tried to do it alone. I've tried geographic cures. I've tried moderation. What I've found is that having people to call in the moments I'm weakest is the strongest defense. I too need sober friends and support so if your ever in a pinch give me a call 480-840-5506

Your not alone, I fell of the wagon but back in the saddle again, thanks for your share, I like sharing this way, I don’t care for AA but I do go once or twice a week, we can do this!!:hugs::pray:t2:

You can do this. It helps to have friends who understand you. Meetings are a great support. Wether in the rooms or on the zooms, get connected. Stay strong!

Hi. We can give you all the encouragement in the world but that will not keep you SOBER!
You Best chance of recovery is in AA. Period.
Others here may be trying to do it themselves so they’ll be telling you to go for it or you got this. That is total
Bull Shit! When you hit you bottom you will need AA to learn how to live without Alcohol or Drugs!! AA is always going to be hear when you are actually serious about this. I hope you make it to the rooms. The women will love you until you can love yourself. The alternative is not good. If you think I’m making this you let me give you 2 examples. This guy went into recovery on July 11, 1984.
His sobriety date is
July 12, 1984. He had an 8 week little girl at home. He now has 2 children that has never seen him drink or use to this day. He had a 41 year relationship with his wife until Jan. 2017. He could not help his wife stop drinking. He left and divorced her. At one point she did get some help. Her body was shutting down and it took 1/12 years to repair her health. She was sober 7 months until she picked up a drink. See this was my X wife. The last 2 years were good between us. On
June 21,2021 I found her dead in her bed when I went by to get my dog.
So I hope you get to AA in time. I came into AA and have never gone out so it can be done.
Love You,
Chris

I am 1 day sober and it’s great reading all these messages,

My addiction took me to dark places. I have done the same thing in the past. Thought I was good and then went on vacation and got away from myself and my routine. It disrupted everything. Having a sponsor or some support person on standby, who you know you can call any time day or night, is priceless. I have never slipped up when I had that. Vacationing with someone in your situation who is sympathetic and supportive of your recovery is also a truly valuable resource. Good luck in the future and welcome back. You will overcome it.
