I'm not a "God" person either. Not in the religious sense anyhow. I do believe in the universe though and that we are all a part of it and that's definitely bigger than self and we are all part of that bigger picture! My higher power is "us"

To me a higher power is just something bigger than yourself, maybe it something you think about that helps prevent you from picking up or using. I'm not a big god person myself.
I would pray about it. You'll find the answer.
My sponser did not believe in God per se but believed that there was something that was all knowing:spiritual but along the way of her recovery her journey changed. As long as you realize that you cannot control your addiction you can turn it over to anything
