I have PTSD. There are many somatic therapy strategies to manage anxiety without medication. Breath in four 4 counts, hold for 2 counts, exhale for 6 counts resets polyvagal nerve. Also mindful breathing prevents anxiety. "Breathing in, I know I am breathing in" "Breathing 0ut, I know I am breathing out" or "Breathing In, Mountain" "Breathing out. Solid."
Self compassion practice-say to yourself what you are feeling. "Feeling fear about _____.." Write down fears and resentments twice a day, morning and night, 15 minutes, followed by 20 minutes meditation. "I am here now." Yoga, I like Julia Jarvis chakra balancing series on Prime Video. Walking meditation in nature. Jogging. Aerobics. Exercise of any kind. Movement and Music change your mood. Dancing. Crank happy tunes and clean anything. Move one thing and everything else changes.

Cognitive behavioral therapy helped me but I don't think it's for everyone. I have ocd and adhd. Kinda creates the perfect storm.
