Thank you Tim, I have an appointment with my doctor and I’ll have a conversation about that. Honestly I’ve been thinking about ot for awhile, I can see how it can be beneficial in recovery
Great idea, that sounds exactly what I need right now!
Sage advice TJ, thank you. It’s still amazing to me how many people share such similar experiences. Meetings for me tomorrow are instrumental in recovery
For me it was and is writing/Journaling. Just write out all those feelings and emotions. Write as your brain thinks of it, doesn't even havecto be legible, jusr get it out! Attack the paper, not yourself
Journal your thoughts it’s helped me! Even know experience the loss of my wife. It’s hard to do. Sometimes I write three words or three pages. But it’s something to go back and look how far you’ve came
Oh gosh these are emotions that I still sometimes struggle with. Meetings are a fantastic way to realize we are not alone. Stay connected share n vent in here and have faith that if you use all the resources available to you and look out for new inspirations and perspectives things become more manageable. We are here to support you.
I remember 20 days and somehow just by staying in today I am looking at 5 years and 11 months...seems far fetched but it can be done..One day at a time..they add up.
I found meditation very helpful. I tend to have an over active mind when I am getting ready to sleep so engaging in meditation before bed everyday helped calm my mind instead of drinking. Now I sleep instead of passing out.
One thing I found helpful in the darkest moments and I still use as part of gratitude/walking mediations was saying out loud my reasons to stay sober, especially the names of the people I love and who love me. It is calming but saying it out loud just makes this amazing difference as to why even though we have to do it for ourselves, there are reasons bigger than us as well.
