When I tell you it was the difference between repeated relapse and NOT, I cannot stress this enough. I have a family member who died before I could share that with him. Before I DID share that with him. If you find yourself again at day one, don't procrastinate, look it up and get involved. In the meantime, you can find a cost-benefit analysis template online. This is an exercise that was very helpful I recall. Usually used in business, we fill it out, with being drunk/high in mind. What are the costs? Benefits? Not just what you HAVE experienced, what you can... cirrhosis, bankruptcy, death. Takes 15 mins or less, no need to exhaust it. Then we do another sheet with sobriety it mind. I keep mine posted to a dreamboard, as relapse has cost me many a dream and will cost me that entire board if I continue to fall prey.
