I’m having a hard time with this the depression is

Quite the opposite. I haven’t slept in gosh I can’t remember. Literally I’m up all night and all day I’ll doze here and there but not longer for ten min. I have bad dreams when I sleep. No today really isn’t a better day at all

Kristina, not knowing where you are in your recovery I'm stuck making assumptions. What I can tell you from my own trials and tribulations is that if you aren't getting the proper rest, you are in the nightmare phase of recovery. I also experienced no sleep. It got so bad, that I began to dread bedtime. My nights were a combination of night terrors and panic attacks. This was all due to chemical imbalance from alcohol. Most importantly, don't fret when you wake up at night after only an hour of sleep. Stay in bed,Make yourself comfortable. Read a book or what ever comforts you. If it's your phone make sure you have the blue light filter on. When drowsiness returns, don't fight it. Leave the light on if need be. And of you have a GP doctor, make an appointment and level with he or she. They understand the problems that accompany recovery. I know it can be he'll Kristina but you can get through this. I was where you are and today I look forward to my rest and sleep with glee. I don't know if this helps but I pray that it does. Your friend in NJ/Fl.

That’s exactly where I’m at. And it is inspiring to hear that it will get better. I very much appreciate you sharing with me and I hope I can make it to the other side. I’m sure trying and it keeps getting thrown in my face that I’m not doing it right. But one day maybe I’ll get it right thanks for the support. It does help

There is no right or wrong way to do this. There's only your way and you need to be gentle with yourself. You are a precious life and you deserve to get well. And you shall. There is light at the end of the tunnel and I am a living Testament to that. Reach out anytime you need a supporting word.
