I really need to quit drinking for health reasons but

For me it was getting serious about health bc it increases heart rate and gave me high blood pressure. Plus I was 20 lbs overweight. Not good for many reasons. Of course you have to believe in yourself even if you keep resetting. Never give up and one day it will click. At least that's what happened to me. It took me 10 years to get to 7 months of sobriety.

Sounds like youā€™re at the jumping off point and ready to surrender! Thatā€™s what it takeā€¦you have what it takes but itā€™ll take all you have. Get to some meetings on the regular and I recommend a sponsor for sure! Godspeed :raised_hands:t3:

Iā€™m not sure what a sober coach is, but when I could not stop drinking I went to AA. It didnā€™t work right away, but it saved my life.
I needed to quit drinking also. I went to 90 meetings in 90 days and by that time I wanted to quit drinking. Thatā€™s a huge difference. And itā€™s free.

Hello Sarah. Check out the book Alan Carr's quit drinking without willpower. It seriously changed my life. I don't have the desire to drink and I socialize plenty. The key is realizing that all the supposed benefits of drinking alcohol are illusions,so there's no mental tug of war any more.

I read his quitting smoking book 3 times. It didn't make me quit, but helped lead up to eventually quitting...if that makes sense
