Just do what works for you! And clearly it’s working if you’re 74 days sober. Everyone is different. Some more vocal and opinionated than others. Don’t let it discourage you. Keep speaking your mind and truths. You just do you
Thank you.
There is no one size fits all method of recovery, if you have done it on hour own that's great. It's just for the vast majority of addicts a program and fellowship and recovery is vital and necessary for them to make it
I went 22 days before I tried AA and eventually left the program some of people seemed like the were still barely holding it together after years of being in the program. I just don’t need it I still visit them once in while. As long as you are doing well then it’s all good.
Thank you. Yep, 78 days today, I just love that the number goes up each day.
Every body s recovery is different you got this.... Reach out your doing what you should do is speak out your not alone
Easy does it one day at time my friend your not doing recovery for other people your doing it for yourself I hope at the end of day it's you looking at you in mirror you have to live with the choices you make it you went all day clean and sober then it's been a good day since days of hard but your not alone
There's only one thing that you have to do.In order to stay clean sober and that's keep giving yourself.Self respecthat's when you use. You're not respecting yourself. And when you respect yourself you will not use
I went through the program and I follow my heart. I dont follow the program. Pre sure I was ready, as it said cause although the thoughts of addiction go through my head my body doesnt want it .
Dont feel alone. I was offered a two year cake in the past and one person was right against it, but we carried on. I dont forget Ed he was an old timer he said, "I was where you are now and I dont forget " thank you for Ed he gave me courage that day although I felt hurt.
I haven’t gone through a program either
Cute doggo!!!
Thanks! Heelers are great.
You aren't the only one! I have over 5 months and no program except for all the sober apps I can do for free, especially this one! Don't worry about what people think, you are doing this for you.....
Well, @iphone257458, I went through a program, and it was no use. I did NA to no avail.
Other people/programs don't get you sober they are just a place to fillyour toolbox with healthy coping tools. Still, at the end of the day, many people never pick up the tools and use them.
Then their are people like us who can get by with the saw, hammer, and 1 screwdriver we whistled together.
Everyone's path to addiction and sobriety is different. Don't let the naysayers knock you off your path of strength!
P.S. I was told I'm not an addict and still get laughed at for huffing spray paint because that's not a "real drug/real addiction." So programs and people can be a barrier to sobriety for some.
slow clap 74 days keep moving forward.
Yes they are!
I suggest you find someone you trust, and is sober, to talk with on the days that you struggle, a friendly ear helps.
Congratulations
