Let them go…

I am about to write down those very phrases which Rachel shared with us, thank you - and thank you to Brittney for bringing up what you have.

Awesome suggestions and insights here.

I am learning more about Byron Katie.
( Please consider looking up her name, The Work and the four questions she poses for , well … life )!

Thank you so much for your suggestions. Congratulations on your sober time. Doesn’t matter if it’s 1 day or 1 year, be proud of yourself. That’s a big deal.

I pray and I have to remember where I was at then and where I am at now and learn to be proud of myself whether anyone else is or not. Don’t beat yourself up because I did too. Then I realized what an accomplishment it is just to make it through the day and not use after that being my identity, my life, my reason to live for 20 years

First and foremost I thank God that He's given me the ability to see some of the thoughts and feelings I have for what they are, my disease.

Now with that said, when I get that way it's because of self pity and self centeredness. I have a simple, but effective way to deal with it.

I just literally say to my disease, "Shut the f**k up." Then I pause, pray, reach out to my sponsor or another alcoholic/addict, and proceed with the next right thing in front of me.
