Yes, cravings can be super challenging! Try to remember to take it One day at a time, sometimes one moment at a time. . Also change your routine a little. If you use to get up at 8am and then take a shower and get coffee try getting up at 7:30 grabbing coffee then taking a shower. Tweaking your schedule a bit will definitely help ! Hang in there it gets better!!!

Hello there, and welcome to this fellowship. You are definitely doing the right thing asking for help. We all need to believe in something greater than ourselves. We must believe in something greater than we are. There are times we are all alone and a higher power can help us through anything. Whatever you choose but you must believe. Our third step says, made a decision to turn our will and lives over to the care of God as we understood him praying only for the knowledge of his will for us and the power to carry that out. We must believe in something greater than we are.. You don't have to this alone. Stay connected because you will discover a higher power of your choosing.

@angela309844 . Very well said. .

Welcome. I have 10yrs clean and I to struggled with the higher power thing early on.. Then I was told about being anything i wanted it to be and it worked till I found my spiritual side and now it's so peaceful in recovery.

I struggle with the whole higher power and God thing as well.

Hi there! Hi wishing you a peaceful night/day
So glad you’re here….

If you aren't feeling the higher power thing the way they explain it then try thinking of "higher power" as "the Universe", "Mother Nature", "The Source/The Light" which could even be as easy as the Sun literally to relate to religious factors...I hope this helps.

For me the higher power is the knowing that there is something that is ever present in the beauty of a flower, the magnificence of the ocean, the stars in the sky, the smile from a child, the warmth of the sun on my face, the touch from another, there is something that weaves all these things together with beauty love and grace. That’s what I choose for my higher power. There’s a trust that everything will happen exactly as it should.

Totally. But take it 1 day at a time, that is what warned for me. The feelings that come with sobriety suck at first, but soon you’ll enjoy actually feeling things! I have 60 days today so trust me I still remember the first few weeks and still have shitty feelings that come up. Difference is I have tools to help get through it instead of drugs.
