Live and let live. Love and tolerance. While this path is not for the majority, it may help those that have yet to find a path that works for them. Just as the word “god” is a trigger for some, the word “satan” is a trigger for others. There’s a lot of misunderstanding here. I believe we all have a lot more in common than we have differences. As long as it’s not harming anyone, why can’t we coexist without the confrontation and disagreements?? I don’t know enough about it to really comment on it. I do know several family members on here that have found sobriety and peace following this path. On the flip side, those that follow this path should not be attacking any other chosen path.

FYI The Church of Satan and the Satanic Temple are not the same at all.
"To hail Satan is to hail oneself". So, why bother hailing Satan? Just hail Yourself, which I firmly believe.
I wish Steve was around because he was a cool guy, not so he could referee for me when someone posts something that bothers me.
DFTN, so women in the US are not oppressed? K, got it. What Kool aid are YOU smoking?
Guys it’s National Steak and B J day
I also think this post is confusing because the OP says atheistic but then says "Sober for" a make believe character.
The Satanic Temple uses religious imagery to make christians pee their pants but they do not worship these symbols, as it is an organization based on reason and without superstition which is what we consider religious faith to be, superstition as arbitrary as a rabbits foot for good luck.

The reason I choose non theistic Satanism is because Abrahamic thought processes must be challenged. Those who hold them should feel as uncomfortable as those who have fallen victim to their elimination and categorization.
Lgbt children mill themselves because of the belief structure forces upon us by western culture. The belief identity is toxic and deserves to be challenged using the bad guy they created.
I really love that you posted this. I’m sober for my da*n self.
A statement of historical accuracies shouldn’t be considered an attack. I see so much dogma in recovery that this needs to be said.
We are all sober for ourselves, AA is suppose to be selfish. And What does Christianity have to do with sobriety or AA? If that’s how you interpreted the massage, it clearly went way over your head. Ironically AA calls for a god of your choosing. Complete freedom in choice. Nothing to do with Abraham. god can be “God”, nature, the group energy or anything you wish. Assigning satan as “God” in this program is restrictive and actually counterproductive to your reasoning.
Historically, humans and religion do not have a very good track record. I can definitely agree with you on that. I think we can also agree that the world would be a much kinder place if we all were more tolerant and loving towards another…if we all were more open minded and humble.
In one breath you state god can be anything you wish. In the next you minimize my belief structure and my definition of god.
you seem to be making all the friends today with your satanism speech. lol
Yes. You can see by the heart reacts that I have some support. I’m willing to have tough discussions that might make me unpopular. But that’s totally ok with me. Sobriety is singular and so am I.
I'm down with almost everything the OP has stated and have been posting very similar things for the last year here.
That wasn’t my intention and I apologize for that. I was referring to AAs belief system of choosing any form or shape of god that helps with sobriety.
When I go to the creepy meeting once per year to get my coin, I am sure to thank myself.
Wow...so your point is...
AA works? Yes AA works.
AA works, for some people.
Sorry, AA really works. Really works for everyone who is willing to do as suggested in the Big Book. I guess you're either lashing out or genuinely believe your words. But choosing this venue as your choice says a lot about your choice. Hopefully you gain a measure of answer toward your actual objective.
