Starting Recovery

I agree. I am very connected don’t worry. Dakar is a big city with all the normal big city things.

Elizabeth look into Women for Sobriety :sparkling_heart: the meetings are virtual and they have multiple meetings that would probably fit into your time zone. I have been a member from day one of my sobriety. At least for me , connections and community are the tools that have kept me sober.
I also recommend you find on the podcast app or even on YouTube… find Sober Powdered by Gill Tietz. She has the most informative episodes explaining the science and how our brains and bodies change with sobriety. She has the very best in my opinion information especially on early sobriety

Thanks for sharing. Yes I experienced very similar. When I got 1 day sober, I started early morning meetings and evening meetings every day for years, immediately got a sponsor and did the steps. My sleep got better within a couple weeks. It’s very simple but not always easy. However it’s much easier than drinking! Drinking make my life unbearable. Once I truly committed to my program, life got better little by little. You can do this🫠

Hi Elizabeth, I definitely suggest what the others have mentioned in terms of staying connected and perhaps finding a group meeting via Zoom. You can do it, be well.
