Went to my first meeting today!

Congrats! I was so nervous at mine :joy:

How was it?

Hope it was helpful. I’m 13 days in and just not there yet

So what is that supposed to mean?

I am very lucky that my hairdresser has actually taken me on as a sponsor, I honestly think this is the game changer for me. I need to work on face to face hard honesty and accountability, it’s crucial for me! I hope you find peace in whatever is helping you! You’ve got 13 days that’s awesome!

Wow Melissa, what a great circumstance! I'm Going to meetings has made my recovery possible. It's just that simple. Keep coming back!

Not ready to go to meetings and stand in front of a lot of people.

Meetings are amazing!!! Keep going back!!! Also, we just started a podcast about early sobriety called 12oz of Sobriety. Give it a listen, as we would love to be part of your journey!!!!

Do it at your own pace, however, remember every person in the meeting has been where you are before. I am in early sobriety, and so are my two cohost of our podcast 12oz of Sobriety. Give us a listen, we would love to be part of your journey!

Thank you

You don't have to stand in front of people. They will welcome you with open arms. We are all one in the meeting rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous. Everybody is there for the same reason; drank too much for too long and are ready for a change.

I would just go. You won't regret going. And go to several different locations until you find a place that you feel comfortable with. That's only my suggestion.

Please let me know how things go for you.

I liked Zoom because of my social anxiety. In person, you can’t hide! :joy: You have to be mindful and present. I still get a lot out of both, but I make community connections from human contact.
