Wow Kate! That's very impressive! Crazy how much time drinking, drugging and making up all the lies to go with it takes up! Send some motivation my way!

Thank you!

It really is crazy! Loving the new energy and time combo though, for sure!

Now that my head is clear I am back to cooking. When I was drinking it was always take out. I also watch a lot of movies and documentaries about alcoholism to educate myself. This hit me fast and hard.

Enjoy all of the above

Recordings of recovery speakers have helped me stay sane and sober...they are easy to find online. I listen to current/contemporary speakers and also historical recordings from the 50’s, 60’s, and on. The impact has been extraordinary for me.

Drawing/painting... I actually find lots of cool stuff to paint with my son at the dollar tree; wooden cars, snakes, lizards, fish, butterflies, they even have wooden jewelry boxes that are decent quality for 1.25, picture frames, things that come with nightlights on them, I've personally done a mermaid, crown and Unicorn that had little lights for nightlights, just all sorts of wooden stuff to paint and it's so cheap. It's a great thing to do to kill time, keep your mind and your hands busy, use as a creative outlet. I love it and would also paint all that stuff if I didn't do it with my kid. Also, painting landscapes and portraits and stuff like that is good to do, but I love painting the objects even more. I enjoy cooking now that I also like eating again lol, going to different escape rooms, traveling locally to different places that you can walk around in nature, I just did a search of places near me within a 20 mile radius and so many places I've never been to popped up and I've lived in this area most of my life. You can also do some photography of things you come across when visiting these places; birds, insects, different little animals you may come across, I am obsessed with snakes so herping for snakes is awesome but I recommend learning about the local species before trying to mess with that but it really is awesome to find snakes , even if you don't go near them or even take pictures just watching them in their natural habitat is awesome and everywhere has different snakes but they all have some type of snakes.

Volunteer— I love horses so volunteer at stable

Yeah…I’m taking a little piece from all of these, I think!

Me as well…and I haven’t been into that since I was a kid playing sports

Exorcise and some kind of art are definitely the clear winners. Reclaiming the mind and the body. It’s really interesting to me that none of these activities are “mindless”. They all take a lot of focus.

Weight lifting, roller skating, playing music, gardening, yoga, meditation, hiking, riding my motorcycles, wrenching on my motorcycles, fishing, road-tripping with no particular destination in mind, golf, volunteering, traveling, going to school, to name a few.

All of these are hobbies that I gave up for drinking and drugging except riding motorcycles.

Getting back into music, hanging with family, taking on projects
