1 month and 10 days!

I’m excited that I’m doing it. Some days are easier than others. I feel…lonely a lot of the time. I tend to isolate myself. I'm depressed a lot of the time.

While I'm happy to take this journey it feels lonely. My family has moved away. My best friend moved to Texas with her husband and his family.

I meet up with co workers but I wouldn’t say that we are friends. They are younger and more into the bar scene and I’m currently trying to move out of that stage in my life.

I hang out with my husband but he has his own friends and I don’t want to feel…I guess dependent on his company.

I don’t want to be a burden.

I did start going to a recovery group but it seems like everyone is pretty familiar with each other. I don’t know if I fit in. I feel awkward socially lol.

Making change is such a slow tedious process. I just want to be the best version of myself already.

Some groups tend to be clickyer than others. Try a bunch out until you find one that has the vibe you're looking for. Recovery and meetings are so important in early sobriety. Really helps with the loneliness and having people around who are experiencing the same feelings that you are is paramount. Keep at it!

I felt the same when I first started going to meetings but then I slowly opened up and I became part of their “family”. Keep giving it a try

You’re doing great. You’ll get there
