My thoughts on 65 days sober.
Daily depression still hits hard but I feel it losing its power. I am realizing that languishing in regret is a form of self harm. I have to remain in the present.
Never thought I’d say this, but I’m actually enjoying going to meetings. Last time around I found them a chore to endure. Not sure what changed this time, but now I see them as a sanctuary, a place where I can be honest without judgement.
There’s a lot of things I need to do to get my life back on track, but it’s finally gotten through my thick skull that I need to be sober to accomplish them.
I’m trying not to get too ahead of myself and I realize I’m still early in my sober days. For now, I am finding freedom in going to bed sober and waking up knowing I get to experience another day.
