100 Days…

The girl on the left was exhausted, depressed, insecure, defeated & felt lost. Her body was malnourished & laden with junk food in an effort to minimize the self induced sickness from the previous night’s alcohol indulgence. She was dehydrated & unmotivated. But she had a desire to change. She knew this was not what God designer her life to be. She figured she’d start gearing up to be sober in the new year. But then she randomly (or not so randomly?) met a sobriety coach and that coach said ‘There is power in the now. Why not start today?’ At first it was moderation but those words kept haunting her. Today, 100 days later, she is the girl on the right. Her skin is getting more vibrant because she is hydrated. Her body is being fed nourishing foods. She has fallen back in love with fitness & nutrition. She has hobbies & wakes up with a smile every morning because she feels proud. Her confidence is creeping back & she is excited because she knows this is only the beginning & the best is yet to come. She has renewed hope. She is happy but no longer allows emotions to rule her life. It is her faith that guides her.

She is me :sparkling_heart: I hope this message inspires someone out there to keep going!!!!

Outstanding message!

Thank you for your inspiring words this morning! Congrats on 100 days!!! The transformation inside and out is a testament to the work you have put into your recovery. I’m interested in knowing more about this sobriety coach. In AA we have sponsors that help guide us through the 12 steps, as well as listen to our crazy babble and make sense of it lol. I’ve come to believe that there are many ways to recovery, but that the ones that work have several things in common. Such as a daily program that focuses on your mental, physical, and spiritual well being. Also, you are not doing this alone. Much like a sponsor or AA group act as a “power greater than ourselves”, your coach is something you lean on to help you. Either way, I think it’s great! Keep it up!!

Thanks so much!!! The coach I have is a faith based sobriety life coach. She works on an individual basis with her clients and then there is a community for her clients to share and support each other. She & I had so much in common & it was like working with a long lost sister! I love hearing about all the recovery resources that are out there and utilizing what resonates from each program. I found for me that financially investing in myself by hiring the coach really added a layer of accountability.

Sounds pretty awesome. Good for you becoming that new you.

I am 100 days completely sober. My coaching community is also all sober.

I didn’t even consider that it was a “management” program. I suppose I should add that when speaking of the similarities of what I consider possible alternatives to 12 step programs. Just for the record, controlled drinking/drugging is not a program I’d be interested in.

Wow! Thank you. I failed each month at not using. But I'm trying again and being 5 days sober has been the longest in 3 years
