Surrounded by my dogs, coffee in hand, I am grateful for another day above ground.
•Today is the culmination of my educational career (for now, anyway).
•I’ve received an outpouring of love and support from my family and friends. At this point, I’m not sure why it surprises me, but it still does.
•The way Norman twitches when he’s dreaming.
•The discontentment I see in others reminds me how far I have come.
•Meditation has transformed how I engage with the world. Rather than reacting as I’ve always done, I can act thoughtfully in challenging situations.
•I'm grateful to be in a place and time where many people embrace the practice of self-reflection.
•I’ll never be a candidate for sainthood, but the program gives me tools to identify my character defects and grow out of them.
•A fun, impromptu family board game night.
•Entering this transitional phase of my life, I'm thankful for the positive habits formed in early sobriety, which will undoubtedly be invaluable.
•I’m grateful for the first step and my memory of what it was like before I got sober.
Thank you for my life.
