12-Step Alternatives for Recovery: (Link at bottom)

Hope everyone had a good weekend or at least decent- and even if you didn’t, that’s okay! We have all been there and it will get better if you believe in yourself and reach out for help as you have by being here! I had a pretty good/busy weekend with lots of “recovery” stuff but I’m starting to wonder- HOW am I going to keep doing all of this and still have a life?! Currently it is not a problem at all for me and I’m really enjoying it as I’m feeling soooooo much better and not feeling like what I’m doing is a “chore.” There is so much positive coming out of it all but I am struggling with my usual- finding balance & prioritizing! I know I’ll get there..it just takes me a bit of time and I’m finally giving myself a lot of grace for once in my life bc I WILL NOT ALLOW MYSELF to fall back in the bottomless ditch I was in. I am so grateful for my life today, more than ever. With that all being said, I was just doing a bit of research and came across an interesting article I think many of you may appreciate and hopefully find peace in knowing that the 12 Steps is not the end all, be all!! Do not get me wrong- I am very much into the fellowship now and am living proof that it working!! However, that is not the only reason why “MY PROGRAM” is working… Although I am working on my priorities and finding balance in my life right now, I am not attending 12step meetings daily for that very reason. As most of you know, I am a huuugggeee advocate for Mental Health and finding balance in life is key! I hope you guys find this article to be helpful! I’d love to hear your thoughts  And PS- do not let the title mislead you! As I believe, and what the author explains, 12-step fellowships are GOOD, they just aren’t the end all, be all! Also, for me, God is good and he is very important to me on this journey but I know a lot of people struggle with it which I don’t judge. WE all need to find our individualized program and that’s not going to be the same for everyone .

Whatever works! As long as a program helps, you don’t use, and there is something to gain… I say use ALL the recourses at your disposal!
