12 Step attempt

Hey guys im new to the site and was wondering what everyone thought about the 12 Step program. I’ve been in it for 4 years but haven’t done the stepsand probably won’t.
Can i find peace without it?

I think you can, there are different programs. Steps 1 through 3 are really good, step 4 is what's scary for me.

I need to start working the steps again!

Welcome! I know many people that have chosen to do the steps and many that haven't and are still successful in their sobriety. I think the 12 steps do offer a solid foundation to build on, but that's not to say that you can't do that by books, podcast or staying connected with others in recovery.

I personally enjoy the 12 step program. I have worked the steps and found a new freedom and hope. I no longer have a desire to drink and have made some really close friends that I can call on if I ever think that I can drink like a normal person. Meetings remind me why I got sober and gives me a chance to share the hope of sobriety with another person who seeks it. If you can’t stay sober on your own 12 step programs work if you work them.
