I'm amazed by how many people have come out to me, asking if I'll take them to a meeting and confessing how much they're struggling. It's amazing to be able to help people. If I were still active in my addiction, they would never have felt they could look to me for help. I didn't expect this side effect, nor how good it feels to be of service to my friends.
