Fifteen years ago yesterday I was arrested for DWI with a BAC of .23. Thank goodness I did not hurt or kill anyone! I ended up on probation for 18 months and kept completely sober. For me it was easy to stay sober since the alternative was jail. Unfortunately, a few months after getting off probation I resumed drinking and smoking week. In the years since my arrest, I've strung together months of sobriety but have yet to reach a year. I do keep trying, and today I am 45 days sober AGAIN. I am older and my body doesn't tolerate alcohol like it used to, so stomach issues led me to stop 45 days ago. I know I can stay sober one day at a time regardless of what happens .
