Hey Sarah. I remember my first night alone. I went to a meeting, stoped for ice cream after and when I went home I put on a movie and tried to pay attention to all the little details vs just watching the movie. It helped me to not think about drinking.
The fear will get better with time. As you learn to sit comfortably with yourself, the serenity becomes more abundant. Congrats on the 6 days as well!

That is one of the most amazingly honest post I've seen. Just shows the strength you have in you

You have to trust yourself to make the right decision. Just one decision, to drink or not to? Decide then find something to occupy your mind.

You may seem physically alone, but you are not alone, post as much as you need to, ask questions, seek support on here. Call someone if you want to. Tim is right, the serenity will become more abundant with time, and as you build what you do with your alone time. Now I look forward to my alone time, catching up on a good series, reading, writing, or just even laying down and getting my thoughts together

You’re not alone…. Reach out anytime.

Miss cuddling is that bad

Never!

It is scary…. In my own head was the most dangerous place to be for me. Healthy distraction, self care and lots of meetings. There is an app called “in the rooms” that have tons of recovery meetings. I spent countless hour with my earbuds in listening in on meetings. Kept me out of my head and in the right track. Keep going cuz if you survive today you’ll be able to do the same next time!! Your worth it

Sucks that you’re alone and it’s scary to you.

I’d be so relieved being totally by myself. But I love my own company and have learned that nothing compares to the calm I feel having the house completely to myself and not having a soul disrupt energy.

Be scarier than whatever is creeping you out.

Hi Jason,
In my addiction (and likely well before my first drink), I never like solitude. Now that I am 500+ days, I hate it even more. I am not sure how to overcome that feeling of loneliness.

I know I am tagging on to her post but I am experiencing the same feelings and I have 1.5 years. Help is greatly appreciated.

1st nights are hard, if you need to get out of your head, jump on here and type away, there’s always someone who can’t sleep and that be willing to chat about it.

Thank u

Yes. I remember the "no one will ever know" alone days and weekends. But then I realized that I WIL know and stuck w it. Have confidence in your self and you'll be great!

Sounds like you need to go to some AA meetings.

Please don't try to do this on your own!

You go to AA meetings, you find people that have quality sobriety time, you get their numbers, you use your phone
and WAL-LA. It's not scary anymore.

Sarah being alone every once and awhile is not that bad think about something in your life that mad you the happy and didn't involve drinking, after you wake up tomorrow you will feel so much better but remember you are the only one that can keep you from drinking stay strong and I wish you all the best,I will pray for you.

I know what you going thru stay strong
