“I thank God for my handicaps, for through them, I have found myself, my work, and my God.”
-Helen Keller
•An extra day off after class got canceled yesterday.
•Derek grabbed me a GYMO hoodie yesterday. Very few things get me more excited than a free hoodie.
•The way Barkley smiles at me when we’re on our daily walk.
•My house never feels lonely so long as Barkley is in it.
•Dinner at Green New American Eatery last night.
•Phone call with Nick yesterday.
•Watching Brad become a part of the group.
•Through the steps, I’ve come to like myself. The more I like myself, the more I prioritize my (physical and mental) health. The healthier I get, the more I like myself, and the cycle continues.
•I’ve learned to play the tape out. I know that there will never be just one drink for me. When I control my drinking, I can’t enjoy it. When I enjoy my drinking, I can’t control it.
•My disease, through pitiful and incomprehensible demoralization, has given me the opportunity to rebuild my life on solid foundation. Today I feel I have a purpose. Today I feel happiness.
God, thank you for my life.
