2 weeks tomorrow! Been a while since I’ve gone 2 weeks without drinking. Feeling absolutely amazing and yes, I am very aware about the pink cloud but have placed so many accountability tools in place to make it literally impossible to drink even if I wanted to (antibuse, voluntarily installed a interlock device in my car and have a counselor that makes me take random breathalyzer tests throughout the day). Question, does anyone know of any online AA groups that are geared towards younger professionals in recovery? I am going to start my own local AA group as there aren’t many in my town and I am the youngest dude in all the meetings by at least 20 years would like to join one that are with people I can relate a little more to/are closer to my stage in this life. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Keep it up y’all, one day at a time!

That's a great step to take to ensure your recovery. If you want any help or support with it, I'd be stoked to do whatever I can. I can only get to one meeting (it's every day of the week) and it's made up of mostly 25+ years of sobriety. I haven't reached a year yet (this time around) so it's often really difficult for me to relate. That's actually why I joined on here because I knew I needed more interaction on my own level. I sort of wish I'd had the idea that you do. But hey, I'm glad someone is working on it! It sounds like you're really being proactive in your recovery and that's something to be proud of. Keep moving forward because you're making great leaps forward!
Troy I'm just like you I was a chronic relapse sir. Just like you I have a lot of drama in my life. So I finally went and got a private trauma therapist and I've been seeing her for a year and it has made all the difference. We can't heal from our coping mechanisms until we heal the underlying trauma. Look up doctor Gabor mate. He's on YouTube. And I 100% believe that until you heal the core Trauma from your childhood and your life oh, it's impossible to stay sober
Thank you Mary! Yeah my younger brother was hit and killed on his bicycle 6 years ago at the age of 28 who I was very close with. Not an excuse but that spiraled my drinking out of control. Working with a counselor to work through the grief that I shoved down deep inside. I will definitely check out Dr. Gabor tho abs appreciate the recommendation!
You hang in there you're doing great
