220 days puke free, y’all!

It’s scary how used to throwing up first thing in the morning I had become. I was sick every single morning for months on end. I would wake up at 5 AM in a panic/terror that I had to wait a whole hour before I could legally get my morning booze to stave off withdrawals.

I used to tell myself that I had a ‘stomach bug’ on some mornings, just to help excuse myself from admitting that I was powerless over alcohol and could not stop drinking on my own.

I have not thrown up or been nauseous even once since I quit. The lies I told myself to keep me in that deep hole of addiction were tragically needed to bring me to where I am today.

My moods are up and down. My life has stress. It has sadness. But it has happiness, too. A lot of it. My life has…life again. I’m sooooo grateful for that.
