25 days free of methamphetamines...but still going to the Methadone

25 days free of methamphetamines...but still going to the Methadone Clinic everyday, for my dose...I'm only on 16 my....I'm currently on a "Medically Supervised Withdrawal" ( I'm decreasing my dose by 2 mg., tomorrow..I want to be off ALL substances, including Methadone, completely).... hopefully I wil start feeling better, even though I'm 25 days clean from Methamphetamines, I still feel numb and experience fatigue from the Methadone, I'm taking... Feeling very frustrated...I really want and crave that heathy Sober feeling, actually enjoying life...

I'm on 16 mg., Of Methadone.

Speak with your provider about the possibility of switching over to Suboxone or Subutex as opposed to methadone. The withdrawal from methadone is absolute torture I was sick every day for eight months. Suboxone doesn’t get you high and actually helps with the cravings and gives you energy. Just a thought. Good luck and lots of love

The storm will pass, it sucks, but it will pass.

You'll get where you want. Be patient with yourself

Not trying to argue but i abused suboxone. It definitely got me high until I got used to it

I think it depends on the drug of choice. I was using fentanyl and meth multiple times a day via Iv so after 3 days of detox, my brain didn’t react to it the way someone coming off of benzoes or alcohol bc I had a dependency of opiates.

And I’m speaking to the long term affects of methadone. As someone who was on it and relapsed. The methadone clinic in and of itself has the same habits as active addiction in my opinion. The long lines and the feeling of hurry up and wait. The same sickly looking ppl. I had a complete opposite experience with suboxone. It was proscribed to me once a week so I had automatic accountability

Yea I’ve been on methadone and you can’t sit down without getting drowsy. There were times when I was driving and it was very difficult to stay alert and I would bounce In my seat to keep myself awake.

The methadone clinic is like a ball and chain. You can’t go away on vacation.. it makes moving to a new state so much harder.. and even if you have no plans of leaving your area, just knowing you can’t feels very restrictive
