28 days in and I’m becoming more open about my drinking problem and thinking more clearly. Even told my nanny for the first time that I’m 28 days without drinking and sober that I finally admitted I had a problem and told her my final straw. I could have never done that before…she said she was proud of me and knew I had been drinking and alcoholism runs deep in my family and she was worried because she saw me going down that path but agreed it was up to me to finally quit drinking and get the help I needed to do so.
That's awesome!! Feels good to not hide anything anymore doesn't it? Congrats Girl!!
Thank ya and no I don’t relate to the people in aa, I’ve just done it myself and talked to my psychiatrist and I vent here and it keeps me sane
Yes I never thought I’d be telling my nanny about me being black out drunk and waking up the next morning with a cocaine baggy in my bra and it being my breaking point but here we are
It takes what it takes right? You know as far as not relating..I feel you but if you look for the similarities rather then the differences you might be surprised! I can't say enough about working the steps with someone!! It's literally life changing!!! If what you're doing ends up not working at some point give it a shot! It really makes you dig deep!!
I like your confidence.
One day at a time. That's good you are sharing here.
Congratulations. 38 days here myself. I’m not a fan of aa myself but I do have this here to vent. I also have my therapist who helps me a lot
Exactly being able to vent here helps me enough for sure. It’s a free feeling because everyone is on the same boat as you. And yeah my psychiatrist helps a lot too, even prescribed me naltrexone to help with alcohol cravings
Telling family members is such a huge step and such a relief. Eventually you will want to shout it from the rooftops - “IM SOBER” and all that shame and guilt you feel about your alcoholism and admitting it to others will slowly fade and be replaced with self-confidence.
Keep at it! One day at a time
Congrats and you actually feel better inside by telling someone that yeah I have problem
Congratulations and great work. Keep it up and the smiles will keep coming and getting better
That’s awesome I got 21 today also , feels good
