28 days off on adderall and alcohol. Feeling unmotivated. I’ve read how to get motivated but it doesn’t help.

Stop reading and pray.

I suggest starting with meditation and breathing exercises.

I’m 4 months sober and I really struggle with motivation too. I know this is a long road so I’m trying to accept that it may be awhile before I feel a strong motivation for work and other things. I’m trying to give myself grace and let myself be lazy so long as it’s not negatively impacting my life (bills are paid, job is secure, etc). Our bodies and minds have a lot of healing to do and if it’s a sober day we are already winning. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself.

Ty, Ive caused distruction this time around.

Depends on what you are trying to get motivated for, in my opinion. Motivation for a run or hike is very different than motivation to do laundry or organize the garage! Start with talking to yourself via a journal or the like. Just dump out all your feelings, fears, achievements, pats on the back, everything. Attack the paper, not yourself!!!

Not motivated to even get up and brush my teeth I have and I’ve showered a few times but it’s challenging. Its not good. At last in rehab 2020 i did it for the women who advisd.
Trust is huge and rejection, not seeking self pity but that’s going on. I have to get it all out. Feeling composed and together is not an option right now.
forget laundry,

I think it’ll come with time everyone has an different journey but just make sure you express your thoughts and feelings with your support system so you can work through them! One day at a time too, I feel like if I think too long term I feel overwhelmed.

Yeah!!!!! I have always done it, most of my life, and I'm old :grinning:

Oh Lorrie what a great plan to give yourself grace. Even just trying to give it to yourself is huge. I was busy punishing myself in the beginning.

You are experiencing a dopamine dip, which is not surprising cs both alcohol and adderall mess with this. Will take time for your brain to readjust.

I'm going to clean the restrooms at the rodeo for the families that bring livestock in town. I get paid and see a lot of pretty cowgirls.:sunglasses:

Ty, Phillip

It is a long road my friend but if we stop occasionally to embrace the beauty of it the trip will go by fast.
