The gratitude I feel today is a direct result of the work I did yesterday.
•I’m grateful that I never have to drink again, over anything, no matter what.
•I’m grateful that I can more easily recognize my cognitive distortions. I have a disease that lies to me in my own voice.
•I’m grateful that Norman feels comfortable waking me up when he needs to go potty.
•I’m grateful that I could speak with so many friends, sponsees, and mentors yesterday.
•I’m grateful that I’ve been so productive lately.
•I’m grateful that I don’t live in my head anymore. I have plenty of people to share my innermost thoughts and fears with.
•I’m grateful for a more nuanced and balanced worldview. My vision is less black and white than it’s been in years.
•I’m grateful for sanity.
•I’m grateful for friends who know how to make me laugh and for mentors who know how to make me think.
•I'm grateful that even though I doubted the steps, following the actions outlined in the book and guidance from a sponsor proved they worked regardless.
I pray that I may be grateful for the things I have received and do not deserve. I pray this attitude will make me truly humble.
