30 days sober, alcohol. Divorce

Alcoholism, untreated mental illness, and plain selfishness led to my 9 year relationship to divorce 30 days ago. I know marriage is complicated. I know we're not supposed to take all the blame, but I know ultimately i lost a good woman because of my own bullshit. I know I never wanna go back to being that person I was. I've not sleeping right eating right. Lost 15 pounds since sobriety. I do what I can but when stressed, depressed, and grieving....

I'm not okay. I'm tired of pretending I'm okay, or in the moment, feeling like I'll eventually be okay. I barely have any support around me, but even then I realize there's only so much people can say or do because I have to walk this path alone. Hopefully I can get to a meeting and meet some people I guess.

But at least I'm sober.

You’re headed in the right direction. One step, one day at a time.

But at least you’re sober - that’s the important part. I feel you man. I lost a good woman also, due to my drug addiction. So very painful, especially when I got clean. They say that ‘time heals all wounds’, and it does. It took me almost five years to be OK. Through working the 12 steps of recovery, the fellowship of other addicts, and working with a therapist - I’m finally able to be in acceptance and to forgive myself. But I had to be sober first. Peace to you.
