I made it back across the big 30, even with a birthday and a vacation to Colorado in the first stretch.
Something about the mountains connects me with a higher power that I don't yet understand. That moment when you overlook a mountain range after a long hike does something for the soul that very little else ever can. Maybe that moment is me shaking hands with my higher power. Maybe it's just a beautiful view.
But, whatever it is, I am looking forward to many more beautiful, hard, still, and turbulent days ahead. Good or bad, being able to experience life in any form means that I am here, right now, existing against infinitesimal odds. And for that, I have a lot of gratitude.
