34 days in. My mood is very manic the past week and a half or so. When I’m down, I’m miserable, immensely sad. Thankful, for the sober time. But ready to put this depression behind me.
Congrats on the 34 days! My emotions were all over the place during my first full 30 days for sure. Today is Day 62 for me and they seem to be leveling out finally but I know it’s different for everyone. Keep going! You can do this!
I've been there and just started coming out of it just recently. You just need to focus on the moment and try not to fill yourself with anxiety of the future and past. You'll get through just focus on going to bed sober..that's what counts. Best part of the day.
Thank you
Thanks Tommy
What everyone has already said. Give your brain some time to heal and come back to it’s normal state. I felt moody AH between around 30-50 too. But was feeling so much better after 70 days. Hang in there, Patrick. Things will get better with each day. We got your back.
Thank you Andrea!
Patrick I suffer from manic depression myself so know that your not alone plus I'm a recovering alcoholic and heroin / fetynol addict I have been clean for 9 months and honestly I never thought I'd ever have clean time the more days and time
The longer clean time you get the easier things wi)l be
Patrick congrats on 34 days brother! I know the feeling. I had 47 days sober and I was in IOP and going to meetings but I just wasn’t feeling right mentally. I went to a 30 day residential. That was where the magic started for me! Group therapy, exercise, individual therapy, church, and everything recovery! This guy named Big Book Steve would read the big book to us every Sunday evening for about an hour. That was awesome! He’s passion for the program sparked a flame
in my recovery.
You working AA program?
Yes, everyday and NA. I’m simply stuck in a rut, dwelling on what I’ve lost, the holes I’ve dug for myself, etc.
I see and totally understand. I was once there too. You not alone in this rut. There are thousands or more worse off then either of us. Remember this shall pass. I find it very helpful for me when I get in these so called ruts to get out and help someone else. This helps remove the bondage of self. How’s your conscious contact with your higher power?
I’m working on it. For years I rebelled against a higher power. Considered myself an agnostic/atheist. Lately, I have been getting down on my knees every morning and evening, as well as during my day. It has only been a couple of weeks with these daily rituals.
I’m with you. I’m there now as well
Sounds about right. One day at a time it will get better
Good job on changing your ways .give it time .just keep it up.you will be so proud of yourself. Any meetings will help to.get on line and look.
You may be going through what is called PAWS, Post Acute Withdrawl Syndrome. There is lots of information on this if you look it up that may help explain what your feeling. It will pass brother, time heals all hang in there.
