That's good but just remember you can do without one. Yes they can help but my feelings are you need to get into it before you marry it. So don't feel you need to do this, this, and that right away is all I'm saying. Be well

I disagree, you absolutely should get a sponsor. You’re not married to your sponsor. A sponsors job is to take you through the 12 steps of recovery. They’re not your friend, not your therapist either. Take all of her suggestions. If you want what she has then do what she does. That’s what I did and the option of a drink isn’t on the table anymore. I sponsor guys now and help others. I tell my sponsees at anytime they don’t feel like they’re getting the help they need from me then they can get another sponsor. It’s nothing personal. It’s their sobriety and their journey. You did great getting a sponsor. Sometimes they do blossom into a good friendship. I consider my sponsor a friend and he does as well. It doesn’t always work out that way though.
