The gratitude I feel today is a direct result of the work I did yesterday.
•I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow every day.
•I’m grateful for early morning phone calls with other alcoholics.
•I’m grateful that I witnessed Barkley playing with Norman in the backyard yesterday.
•I’m grateful for the times that Norman climbs onto my lap to say hi.
•I’m grateful that I have a sponsee who I can read and discuss the book with.
•I’m grateful that I’ve been gifted with self-discipline. I’m grateful that I can do my best to live the way God wants me to live.
•I’m grateful that I continue to wake up excited for the day. I no longer fear my future but welcome it gladly as it comes.
•I’m grateful for the change in my thoughts, attitudes, and emotions that resulted from working my steps.
•I’m grateful to have been taught to share my pain instead of hiding it. I’m grateful that this seemed to have solved my issues with shame.
•I’m grateful for another sober day.
Self-will is like fine china. We need to be more like Tupperware than fine china — we’ll last longer and be invited to more dinner parties.
