✨4/19/24 gratitude list✨

The gratitude I feel today is a direct result of the work I did yesterday.

•I’m grateful to be hitting a meeting tonight. Two days is too long for this alcoholic.

•I’m grateful to be up early with my peeps at OrangeTheory. I only have five shifts left here, and I know I’ll miss it when I’m gone.

•I’m grateful that my sleep has been improving steadily over the last few days.

•I’m grateful for all the loving, supportive people in my life. For so many years, I treated life like a solo adventure. I’m glad to have partners on this journey.

•I’m grateful for the routines that keep me grounded, even on crazy days.

•I’m grateful for Norman's grown-man snores during his post-walk nap.

•I’m grateful for Barkley’s health and resilience. It can’t be easy getting a baby brother after 67 dogs years as an only child.

•I’m grateful that my body cares for me while I sleep.

•I’m grateful that I started taking care of my body as well as my mind. My mind is much healthier now that my body is also cared for.

•I’m grateful that except for small moments where memories or twisted thoughts try to creep in, alcohol isn’t even a thought anymore.

Self-will is as fragile as fine china. We need to be more like Tupperware than fine china — we’ll last longer and be invited to more dinner parties.
