Today I’m grateful for so many things, including:
•Due in large part to being in a health-conscious state of mind and the behaviors that go along with that, my wrist seems to be healing relatively quickly.
•All the birds that Barkley and I hear on our morning walks.
•Keeping current. I tell on my thinking to keep current. Keeping things to myself builds emotional debt, which leads to secrets.
•A sponsor who’s smarter than he looks.
•I woke up early today to ensure I can take my time at the gym.
•Barkley has decided to grace me with his presence on the couch as I write my list this morning.
•I’ve been granted release from my obsession. I don’t have to drink or use, no matter what.
•Humility. While I’m still full of ego, it’s more right-sized today than it was 16 months ago. I know I have more work to do.
•Spiritual growth is a journey with no destination. I always have room to improve.
•The grace of God and the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous.
God, thank you for my life.
-Mike!
