The gratitude I feel today is a direct result of the work I did yesterday.
•I’m grateful for the several days I’ve had to live with this excitement and optimism regarding a potential new job. Today is the second interview, and whatever happens, those emotions are likely to change.
•I’m grateful for the fellowship of AA and how much easier it’s become to navigate life since I found my way into the rooms.
•I’m grateful for another new day. I was just given one yesterday, and yet here’s another one.
•I’m grateful for all of Arizona’s beautiful flowering plants.
•I’m grateful for this practice of gratitude that keeps me from drifting into remorse or self-pity (most of the time).
•I’m grateful for morning affirmations with Barkley and Norman. They are such well-adjusted dogs, and I love these little moments.
•I’m grateful for advice from men who live the life I’m striving to live. My default is still to lie when I’m fearful, and I’m blessed to have such seasoned guidance.
•I’m grateful for the men who turn to me for advice when challenges find them. I’m honored to be a trusted confidant.
•I’m grateful that rest comes so quickly to me.
•I’m grateful for this beautiful life, which is much better than I deserve. Life will put me in uncomfortable situations, but I’m much better equipped to handle them.
Self-will is as fragile as fine china. We need to be more like Tupperware than fine china — we’ll last longer and be invited to dinner more often.
