4 days alcohol free, withdrawing from benzos

I have 4 days alcohol free, but am coming off of Xanax at the same time am weaning off of Xanax. I can’t believe that I got addicted, and am struggling to find a calm state of mind.

Please be careful and reach out for medical help if need be. Both alcohol withdrawals and benzo withdrawals are life threatening, both at the same time is very dangerous. I pray for sobriety for you, you are worth of sobriety, it is possible ( I’m living proof). Just safely get through the next couple weeks

I have come of both many many times but this last time I went through detox and it gets better, the anxiety and the dependency for Xanax will go away.

How did you successfully come off of Xanax? I’m tapering off. I took .25mg today, I just want to be OFF!

It not easy but I did my own tapering and then would take a day in between but then I just said screw it once I had been on very low doses to not have a seizure. It just takes time. Or you can go to medical detox and they put you on anti seizure meds for the withdrawal

Good luck! Be safe, for real get medical help if you think you need it. But you got this!

Stay with it but you got to taper it. Talk to your doctor. Xanax is the worst. I did it twice.

First time was the worst after taking it every day for 4 years.

Second time was after not taking it for 3 years and I took it for month only. The second detox was much easier. I won’t lie to you- it’s going to be difficult but persevere with assistance.

Def let your doctor know and see what they say. Tapering on your own is soooooo difficult the mindset is absolutely so hard to maintain. But you’re doing it so that’s awesome but you can give yourself some breathing room if you talk with your doctor about what’s going on and see what your options are

Thanks guys- trying every natural alternative- valerian root, cbd oil, ashwaganda, gaba powder, ugh. Just want my mental stability back! 4 days down without alcohol though!

Please be soo careful! I was in a similar situation with anxiety meds/alcohol and benzodiazepines. I had a Grand mal seizure on day 5 of withdrawals. I woke up actually feeling decent, too. I felt well enough to go to a theme park which is where the withdrawal seizure happened. Highly recommend anyone withdrawing from multiple substances to seek medical support! Best wishes on your journey.

You got this. You concurred the Alcohol now let your health care provider know about your withdrawals & I’m sure She/He can help you in that area. ( only a suggestion) I’ve gone through with similar situation.

Keep up the good work.

These were the two things I was addicted to also, and it’s a long road to recovery, make sure you reach out for help, it’s the only thing that will get you by for now and congratulations! everyday away from it is a blessing :relaxed:

Xanax is dangerous to cold turkey. Seek medical help if you can. Good luck!

Welcome to the app and the sober way of life. Reach out if you need someone to talk to.

I am really struggling with getting sober. I feel like I’m going through the mental Olympics. I’ve been sober before for over a year, I can only pray that god will take away my difficulties. I don’t want to die.

How’s It Going Will A ? I Hope All Is Well. 1 Day @ A X
