4 Month Slump

Coming up on 4 months. Finding myself stumbling upon more and more absurd thoughts that “if I try again I could control it” even though I know I can’t. I know I’m powerless and working a pretty active program - sponsoring men, speaking at H&I’s, daily spirituality contact and meditation, calling my sponsor daily. Is this just something that happens at this point in sobriety? It’s the longest I’ve had, and I’m not seriously considering drinking - just are these thoughts normal? It makes me think that I’m maybe not working a thorough enough program, but I feel like I’m doing all the things, and doing them honestly.

Completely normal… that’s the addiction trying to trick you. The demon is getting scared because you are doing the next right thing and it knows it lost! Great job man. Keep beating that demon down.
