Hey, I am new here. I have been sober from my binge drinking for 4 months. I am grateful and have been keeping to myself with work, gym, church and etc... Any places I have been, such as dinner, movies or any outdoor events, I have gone alone and I have been okay with that. Now, I am looking to connect with other sober folks. Anyway, being sober totally Rocks!!
Welcome and congratulations on your 4 months!
Thank you Mandy! Have a great day and God Bless!!
Congratulations on 4 months. My hope is that you are working a recovery program that includes, a sponsor, looking inside/out, being of service, helping others, reading The Book, being accountable and other simple steps for a complicated person like me.
All these tools helped me stay sober when life got lifey. Sobriety does rock! It is easy to fall back on old behaviors when the pink cloud fades.
Thank you Niel!!
Hey Krystyn, thank you for that. I have many questions about this new life. I have been reading a lot about sobriety and I have found so many things that actually make sense. My biggest concern or question is how do I build a new tribe alcohol free? Everything I knew was going places where I drank and so did all of my so-called friends. Anyway, I am sure I could go on and on. Thanks again!
Great job Rob, you're headed in the right direction. Only thing I would add is don't keep to yourself, that's a recipe for disaster, find some folks in recovery and surround yourself with it. Fellowship is unbelievably helpful
Hey David, thanks for your encouragement. I haven't really looked into finding others in recovery yet. Not quite sure where to begin to look. I kinda just go to work, workout, read and go to church rt now.
AA meetings.
Welcome aboard Rob it's wonderful to be on the other side of the fence. I'm with Neil on this one I don't know if your in a program but meetings a sponsor and working the twelve steps that are suggested in the big book are what kept me clean for longest I've ever been in over 40 years. It really works if you apply yourself and work the program. Remember we all have a life long disease that does not go away ever.Congrats to you and keep up the good work. The rewards are endless.
Thank you Ronald!
Great job!! It can be easy to slip back into drinking if you get bored. I suggest you look up Annie Grace because she can help you keep on track with your sobriety forever. You can download her app for free on your phone & you can post there & find support there. Maybe you will find someone from Oklahoma on there!! Itโs called This Naked Mind Companion App. She also has a thing called Living Naked for people who want to live Alcohol Free. She also has a blog, a podcast & she answers readerโs questions for free on YouTube. Good luck!!!
Keep up the good work.
