50 days of sobriety. Am I still making reservations? Am I still thinking about drinking ?
I am checking myself all the time during a day. My therapist says that relapse is preventable.

How are you working on preventing relapse, do you do something specifically?

And I really enjoy my daily yoga practice. It helps me to be in a good mood.

Yoga helps me tremendously as well. Nothing seems to be working today, so I will sleep and hope that change DOES happen overnight. But it does usually help a lot. Good for you, Jane, and thank you for sharing!

Yoga is definitely something that helps! And mindfulness in general.

Yoga helps tremendously - my yoga doesn’t look anything close to that! Wow, what strength you have!

Meditation, sponsorship, the steps, meetings, and working with other alcoholic women. Drinking was my solution to my rabbit brain - my rabbit brain runs faster and harder without alcohol if I do not have a spiritual solution. We have talked a lot lately about unbearable sobriety in meetings - it is not fun.

When I first got sober - I used spite, I used fear, I used the thought, “ I don’t want to go through the first ten days again.” Eventually, by working the steps, fighting myself and alcohol no longer consumed my mind.

Never forget the emotional and physical hangovers! Go to meetings, talk to another alcoholic and dont drink! Go to bed sober, and start it all again. Don't overthink it. It is simple. Everything will make more sense as time goes by. You are making a tremendously important decision for you and those that love you.

For me, alcohol has no more appeal since the benefits I was seeking from it were all illusions. Yogurt is much better.

Jane you are fabulous! I once heard a treatment counselor say at an AA meeting, “Replase is a part of early recovery,” I LOST MY MIND!!

I sponsor 3 guys I do a lot of service work for H and I chair meetings in facilities having ppl that depend on me has a lot to do with me staying clean...525 days today by the grace of God...

That is awesome that God has allowed you to take your messy past and turn it into a service toward others, lovely and clean as a whistle! Carry on smartly sir. I love what you are doing!

50 days is great! I don’t even want to look at alcohol anymore. It’s gets easier because of how good you are going to feel. I can’t imagine feeling terrible anymore from drinking.
