Hit 6 months on Friday, July 1, 2022.
Went to a meeting last night and I guess they have “coin meetings”. (Or it’s part of the meeting, I don’t remember the verbiage.) Just a bit ironic as I took a nap after work and didn’t make my normal 330 and thought, “what the heck, it’ll be good to see them”. So, storm and all, I headed to the in person meeting at 7.
For the rest of my days I’ll never forget what the man said to me; “When you feel the urge to drink, put this coin in your mouth and when it melts, you can have a drink!”. We all shared a laugh. I loved it!
With all of the anxiety I had over the Fourth of July weekend, it was WELL worth the sobriety I had last night and still have today.
It works if you work it. Only you can decide that one.
Hope it’s shining wherever y’all are and if not, bring a little light into your day however you can.

That’s amazing Katie!! Very happy for you!!! They give out ‘chips” at the end of every meeting that I go to. Yearly anniversaries are celebrated once a month, typically at the end of each month. Each group may do it a little differently. Regardless, 6 months is an amazing accomplishment!! Keep working on your recovery one day at a time
